It is the mission of the Ravenna Community Educational Foundation to enhance the quality of education and educational opportunities and to generate and distribute financial and other resources for the benefit of the students and staff of the Ravenna Community Schools.
The viability of the Ravenna Community Educational Foundation relies on financial support from residents of the community, local business and Ravenna alumni. While cash gifts may be the easiest way to contribute, there are several alternative methods for making contributions. For example, individuals may consider including RCEF in their estate and will bequests or make a memorial contribution in the name of a loved on or even a favorite teachers. Other ways to contribute could be through the donation of real estate or stocks. Businesses may consider providing matching contributions based upon employee contributions.
Contributions of time are also welcome. Volunteers are always needed for various projects and fund raisers. Any amount of time that can be contributed will reap great benefits for the schools and the community.
Contributions to RCEF are invested and managed through the Community Foundation for Muskegon County. This arrangement allows for both state and federal tax deductions on all contributions to the extent allowed by law.
The Foundation will carry out its mission by focusing its support in the following areas:
Facilitate student development
Provide funds for learning activities, which supplement, complement, and augment the basic educational program. Provide equipment, facilities, and materials not funded through other means.
Encourage excellence through creative learning and teaching
Provide venture capital for creative ideas and programs (mini-grants).
Support professional growth of staff.
Promote community/school partnerships
Promote community awareness of educational challenges and solutions.
Develop programs to address the needs of the Ravenna Community Schools and the people it serves.
Foster the development of alumni relations.
Provide a vehicle through which individuals, businesses, and organizations may share resources and gifts with the Ravenna Community Schools, their students and staff.
